David Poroch serves as Executive Vice President, Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer for Georgia Power. Georgia Power provides clean, safe, reliable, and affordable electricity to 2.6 million customers across the state of Georgia. With $8 billion in annual revenues and more than $40 billion in assets, Georgia Power is the largest subsidiary of parent Southern Company, one of America’s largest energy providers.
Named to his current position in April 2019, Poroch is responsible for overseeing the company’s accounting and financial reporting, financial planning and analysis, budgeting, treasury, and internal controls.
Poroch joined Southern Company in January 2012 as the Vice President and Chief Audit Executive of Southern Company Services, where he was responsible for overseeing the internal auditing services of Southern Company and its subsidiaries. He moved to Georgia Power in August 2014 as the Vice President and Comptroller of Georgia Power Company, responsible for financial reporting, accounting research and internal controls, as well as revenue, tax, joint-ownership, and property and regulatory accounting. Prior to joining Southern Company and Georgia Power, Poroch was a partner in the professional services firm Deloitte & Touche LLP with 19 years of experience in the utilities sector of the energy industry and significant experience in financial services.
Poroch is a Certified Public Accountant. He received his BBA degree from Northwood University in Midland, Michigan. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, and is licensed in Michigan, Georgia, and Florida.
Externally, Poroch serves on the board for the Atlanta Botanical Gardens and Humane Society of Northeast Georgia. He and his wife have two children and reside in Dunwoody.
