Ann Daiss is chief accounting officer and comptroller of Southern Company, as well as senior vice president of Southern Company Services. In this role, she is responsible for all consolidated accounting and reporting, as well as shared accounting services.

Prior to assuming her current role, Ann was vice president, comptroller and chief accounting officer at Georgia Power, where she was responsible for all internal and external accounting and reporting, as well as Georgia Power’s regulatory accounting strategy. She has testified frequently before the Georgia Public Service Commission.

Ann joined Southern Company Services, the system service company for Southern Company, in 1998 as director of accounting. She subsequently served as director of accounting research and SEC reporting and as assistant comptroller and director of accounting. Prior to joining Southern Company, Ann was a senior audit manager for Arthur Andersen’s Atlanta office, where she served clients in the utility, telecom, airline and investment
management industries.

Ann is the immediate past chair of EEI’s Accounting Executive Advisory Committee. In the Atlanta community, she has served on the boards of the Women’s Resource Center to Prevent Domestic Violence, the Atlanta Botanical Garden, and Bright Generations LLC.

Ann holds a B.B.A. degree in accounting from the University of Georgia. She is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Georgia Society of Certified Public Accountants.
