Description

What do Dorothy, the Scarecrow, the Tin Man, and the Cowardly Lion have to teach us about accountability? More than you might think! This session uses the timeless characters from The Wizard of Oz and insights from The Oz Principle to explore how personal responsibility drives success.
Going down the “Yellow Brick Road”, we’ll explore how the Scarecrow reminds us that wisdom comes from seeing reality clearly, the Tin Man teaches us to own our role with heart, and the Cowardly Lion shows that courage is essential to solve challenges. Finally, like Dorothy, we’ll learn to take decisive action—because accountability isn’t about blame, it’s about empowerment. Just like the heroes of Oz discovered their own power to change their circumstances, we’ll uncover how embracing accountability can transform yours!

Learning Objectives
As a result of this session, attendees will...
•Recognize when you’re stuck in the “victim cycle”: Understand the signs of blame and excuses, and learn how to move toward ownership and proactive problem-solving.
• Apply the four steps of accountability: See It, Own It, Solve It, Do It: Discover how these steps create a clear path from recognizing challenges to taking decisive action.
• Use lessons from Oz to lead with wisdom, heart, and courage: Like the Scarecrow, Tin Man, and Lion, learn how combining insight, empathy, and bravery helps you tackle tough situations effectively.
• Build a culture where accountability drives collaboration and results: Explore practical ways to foster a team environment where everyone takes responsibility and works toward shared success.
