Kim Lovingood joined Southern Company in 2018 and currently holds the role of Director of Retirement and Financial Wellbeing within the HR Total Rewards organization. In this role she leads the Retirement team in the administration of the Pension, 401(k), and Financial Wellbeing programs. Kim and her team have a passion for improving the retirement adequacy and financial wellbeing of our Southern Company employees and enjoy educating around the system.
Kim began her career at AON in 2007 as a Pension Consultant, where she supported the mandatory funding and reporting for corporations with pension plans. Over time, her interest shifted towards helping employees with retirement adequacy. This led her to Koch Industries, where she led the retirement strategy, and eventually to Southern Company.
Kim earned a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics from Maryville College and a Master’s degree in Financial Mathematics from Florida State University. After graduating from Florida State, she pursued and became a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries specializing in Retirement Plans.
Outside of her professional life, you can find Kimberly reading, finding outdoor activities around Decatur, supporting Atlanta United, or on the soccer fields with her husband Craig and children (Avery and Everett).
